Read to Me!

by Darlyn Finch Kuhn on June 29, 2010

Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher!

The single most important factor influencing a child’s early education success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school.

The Adult Literacy League provides its Read to Me! literacy program to low-income families with pre-school children, a population most at risk of not reading to their children or having children’s books at home.

Read to Me! is operating in local Head Start programs, low-income pre-school centers and is also provided to the families of adult learners enrolled in the Adult Literacy League’s programs. Through the support of our current donors, 330 children are being served.

Your Help is Needed!

With the new school year approaching, additional funding will help us expand this effective program to even more children at Centers currently on our waiting list.

THANK YOU to these organizations for your support of Read to Me!
