Opening Reception for Battlefield

by Darlyn Finch Kuhn on May 16, 2014

The Art and History Museum in Maitland will host the opening reception for “Battlefield” at its art center on Friday, June 6th at 6 p.m. Art and History Museum members attend free while non-members attend for $5.

Battlefield explores the various relationships that exist during war and conflict. This thought-provoking exhibition brings together works by J. André Smith and his experience as an artist sent to the front lines, in contrast to a broad range of powerful artworks by contemporary artists working today. Each artist brings a unique perspective to a challenging subject. This exhibition is complimented by the concurrent exhibitions at the Waterhouse Residence Museum, Maitland Historical Museum, and Telephone Museum.
