From the Florida Literary Arts Coalition Newsletter:

Other Words is coming! We’re officially calling for panels for our 2017 conference on October 12-14, 2017 at the University of Tampa.  The deadline fo proposals is June 1, 2017.

This year, our theme is Food–writing about food, food in literature, food as metaphor, eating and other things we do with food, finding food, wasting food, food scenes, food poems.  Let’s say all things foody.

As always, we will consider panel topics that are not about food if they are so delicious we can’t live without them.

Let us reiterate that Other Words focuses on writing and not literary criticism. We are not looking for papers and panels as to why an author’s work is funny, but how to -create- literary comedy.  Preferred panel proposals will discuss the craft of writing as opposed to those that feature only panelists doing readings. However, a mix of the two is a good strategy. We strongly recommend a panel proposal which includes at least three panel members as it’s difficult to match solo proposals with compatible participants.
