Part of the fun of the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival is getting to know the cool kids. Here’s one!
Marq Mervin is a multifaceted creative, educator, TEDx speaker, and lover of video games. His tenure in broadcast led to an Emmy Award-winning documentary. Currently, Marq teaches at Florida State College at Jacksonville and advocates for art and design education for underrepresented youth. His work led to recognition from Revision Path’s 28 Days of the Web and to moderate VyStar’s International Artist Lecture Series with Disney legend Floyd Norman. He’s the author of “One Day, I Hope That…”, a collection of prose and poetry. When he’s not traveling for tournaments or speaking opportunities, he’s catching up on his favorite anime.
