Journalism Student Covers JaxbyJax Writing Workshop

Kristin Brainard, a UNF journalism student, attended the JaxbyJax Writing Workshop on April 8th, and wrote the following short article about the experience:

Aspiring writers are on the path to success after the Jax by Jax writing workshop on Monday, at Florida State College at Jacksonville South Campus. The event, hosted by Brad and Darlyn Kuhn, was the second event of its kind, out of nine that are scheduled. The workshop was a free event, open to anyone, with the purpose of allowing writers to have their writing read, and critiqued, by several different people.

The workshop ran from 6-9 p.m., and included a series of literature pieces being read, and critiques being made on the work. According to the Kuhns, the workshop is one of many, meant to prepare authors to submit their work into the Jax by Jax Literary Arts festival coming up in November.

One participant, Alana Muse, said “This was my first time attending a Jax by Jax event. I enjoyed it very much, and I definitely want to come back in the future.” There are multiple other workshops planned in the Jacksonville area soon.
