Florida Humanities Council’s Microfiction Contest

The Florida Humanities Council will host a micro fiction contest for all Floridians. Writers must submit a 250 word fictional piece beginning with the line, “they named the gator.” All submissions must be turned in by 5 p.m. on March 31st. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize and have their work published in FORUM magazine. For more information, visit www.flahum.org.

How to Write Your Story: Start to Finish

Patricia Charpentier is offering conference call seminars for writers to learn approaches and techniques that will help them finish their pieces. Charpentier will host the conference calls on March 19th at 7 p.m. and March 20th at 11 a.m. both EDT.

Topics for the conference call will include: five common reasons people do not write their stories, five popular approaches to writing your story, five common mistakes to avoid and five characteristics of people who finish.
