Wharwood’s love of poetry began with her mother, and grew when her kindergarten class had to recite a poem every day when entering school. She is co-founder of The Cypher Open Mic Poetry & Soul, Jacksonville’s longest running open mic. Her chapbook is entitled, “Random Thoughts of Reign.”
