In Case of Rain … Willowbranch Library

willowbranch (1)

Your Scribbler is reading (with Rashad Hawkins) on the charming back lawn of the Buckland House (RAP) on Herschel Street during the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival on Saturday, October 13th. But should it rain more than a few drops (which the lovely tent donated by FSCJ can handle) we’ll be located just down Park Street, in the basement of the Willowbranch Library.  We are grateful for the library reserving the room as our rainy day alternative venue.

The home of the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival is its dozen venues in the heart of Riverside/Avondale, and we are extremely grateful for each and every one. Thank you!

The Studios at Florida School of Holistic Health says it offers “over 350 classes, Instructions & Certified Courses in Herbalism, Aromatherapy, Nutritional Herbalism, Private Product Line Creation,  Organic and Natural Bath and Body Private or Business Formulation, Organic Soap Making Workshops, Natural Makeup, Baby Care, Natural and Organic Cosmeceutical Formulation, as well as  classes in Cheese, Wine, Beer Making and Fermentation.” Whoa!

And you thought they were just a place that sold amazingly beautiful bees-wax soaps in their attractive, fragrant storefront.  Nope. They’re busy teaching folks how to make it, as well.

We’re so happy to work with you to bring JaxbyJax to Riverside again this year.

Whiteway Goes Above and Beyond to help JaxbyJax

Whiteway Corner

So, not only did Whiteway Corner once again offer its beautiful Conference Room as a JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival venue, so that two writers could read their work to fans – they’ve also offered a lovely not-yet-rented-out storefront on Park Street for the Pop Up Bookstore to be run by San Marco Books & More. The space has beautiful built-in bookshelves. It was meant to be! We are so grateful.

We appreciate Lisa Grubba (of Florida Field Notes) for obtaining both spaces for our use, and also for donating a case of wine to the after-party for our enjoyment. Let’s all raise a glass to her at 6:30 Saturday night, October 13th at Yellow House Art!

Cool Moose Cafe keeps it simple: “Amazing Food, Wonderful Coffee, Great People.” Part of what makes its people great is the way they throw open their doors for community events like JaxbyJax, and for their special passion, the National Kidney Foundation.
