JaxbyJax Student Showcase Welcomes Meredith Abdelnour

Meredith Abdelnour

Meredith Abdelnour is a senior in the creative writing program at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. When she’s not writing, she’s hanging out with her dog/best friend, Millie, or trying to learn the ukulele. She doesn’t know what she’s planning for after high school, but she’s sure that it’s going to be cool.

Meredith is a Jacksonville native, and she’s honored and excited to be a part of JaxbyJax this year.

We, too, are honored and excited that Abdelnour will read to us at the JaxbyJax Student Showcase at 1:30-2:30 PM on Saturday, October 13th at Women Writing for a Change, 1610 Osceola Street, in the historic Riverside section of Jacksonville.

Evelyn Alfonso to read at JaxbyJax Student Showcase

Evelyn Alfonso

Evelyn Alfonso is a senior at Douglas Anderson School of The Arts. If you see her in public, she is probably holding her beloved cat, Simba. Her hobbies include watching corny rom-coms, lying in bed all day, and cracking people’s knuckles. Her dream career is being a physical therapist with posters of poems on every wall of her office. She hopes that poetry can provide people a catharsis they need for healthy recovery. Today, she is the Poetry Editor for Elan International Literary Magazine.

We are delighted that Alfonso will read to us at the JaxbyJax Student Showcase at 1:30-2:30 PM on Saturday, October 13th at Women Writing for a Change, 1610 Osceola Street, in the historic Riverside section of Jacksonville.

FSCJ Sponsors JaxbyJax Student Showcase

The JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival couldn’t happen without the sponsorship of FSCJ, which provided help with publicity, venue banners, chairs, and event planning. Professor Matt Lany, in particular, worked hard on the Student Showcase, which will happen from 1:30-2:30 PM on Saturday, October 13 at Women Writing for a Change, 1610 Osceola Street, in Riverside.

The advice and counsel of Jeff Hess, Whitney Lafond, and Tim Gilmore of FSCJ was invaluable, as well.

We appreciate you, FSCJ!
