Law of Attraction in the Movies

Join presenter Leslie Halpern on September 18th for an exploration of the Law of Attraction at work in the movies. Always on the cutting edge of New Thought, Hollywood has been sneaking subtle law of attraction love lessons into the movies for decades. Going beyond what you might read in a movie review or hear about on a talk show, this session will dig deep into “secret” messages woven into the storylines that can help you improve your off-screen romances using the Law of Attraction. Movie clips, trailers, and trivia highlight this special meetup presentation.

Leslie is the author of the recently released book 200 Love Lessons from the Movies http://www.amazon.com/200-Love-Lessons-Movies-Moonstruck/dp/1630761370/(Taylor Trade Publishing, 2016) and Reel Romance: The Lovers’ Guide to the 100 Best Date Movies (Taylor Trade Publishing, 2004), among several other books. The September FSPA meeting is Thursday, September 15, 6:30 p.m. at Maitland Public Library’s Community Room. 407-647-7700.

The correct dates for the FSPA October Convention, hosted by The Live Poets Society of Daytona Beach, will be Friday, October 21, Saturday, October 22, and Sunday Morning, October 23. It will be held in Daytona Beach at the Plaza Resort and Spa, 600 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach, FL.
The following shows are free and open to the public. Please attend and support your co-writers. 

Saturday, September 17, 2 p.m. is the annual Wednesday Writers reading at Winter Park Public Library, where FSPA members Georgia Rodriguez, Diane Reitz, Joe Dunn, Frank T Masi, Carlton T Johnson, Robyn Weinbaum, Elaine Person, and others will read. The talented Central Florida Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar Players will join the fun. FREE and open to the public. 407-623-3300.

Sunday, September 18, at 3:30, Maitland Public Library holds its monthly writing workshop facilitated by Elaine Person. FREE and open to the public with a new theme called “Sandals or Scandals.” We will read our writing at the September Coffeehouse, the last Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. FREE and open to the public.

Sunday, September 25, 2 p.m. at Maitland Public Library is the Poetry Ensemble of Orlando’s annual contest reading. FSPA members Lynn Schiffhorst and Carlton Johnson won first and third place respectively and will read with the Ensemble. Leslie Halpern will emcee and introduce her new book 200 Love Lessons from the Movies. FREE and open to the public. 407-647-7700.
