Your Scribbler paid Rollins College’s seriously expensive tuition to learn to write short stories from this guy, and you get to work with him at Mary Ann de Stefano’s MAD about Words workshop for the price of a seriously average dinner for two on Park Avenue. I don’t want to say I’m envious, but I will call you names like seriously not so smart if you don’t grab one of the remaining two seats for Philip F. Deaver’s “The Long Short Story” workshop TODAY. (Okay; okay; I’m envious. Seriously.)

Homer Hickam Returns to Orlando!
Sunday, November 22nd, from 7-8 p.m., join Bookmark It in welcoming the author of Rocket Boys to Rollins College for An Evening with Homer Hickam, as he presents his latest book, Carrying Albert Home.
The event will be held in the Galloway Room in Mills Memorial Hall, Rollins College, 1000 Holt Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789.

Hickam’s latest book Carrying Albert Home weaves together family lore, historical accuracies, comedy and a touch of sadness as he tells the story of his parents’ journey from Coalwood, West Virginia, to Orlando, Florida, to return home a pet alligator named Albert.
