The Winter Park Public Library will host author/photographer Josh Garrick on his discussion of the architecture and art of the Parthenon on Sunday, May 18th at 2 p.m. Garrick will talk about his 5 months in Greece researching and writing “Seeking the Ancient Kallos.” Copies of the book will be available for sale. Functionally Literate
The Orlando Fringe Festival will host “Functionally Literate” on May 17th at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
“Functionally Literate” is Burrow Press’ quarterly reading series that aims to connect and entertain Orlando’s larger community of writers, bookworms, and the intellectually curious. Each event features visiting writers and talented locals from all over the Central Florida community.

Sounds of the Soul: Rajeev Taranath
The Orlando Museum of Art will host Rajeev Taranath live in concert on May 10th at 8 p.m. Taranath is joined by Aditya Banerjee on percussion. The pair will perform a classic Indian duet. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $19.95.
Rajeev Taranath has spent a lifetime developing his command of the sarod , a traditional North Indian lute that has a distinctive and sweet metallic sound. For over seven decades, he’s performed for diverse audiences as a Ford Foundation Scholar and ambassador of Indian culture.

Applied Happiness Seminar
The Winter Park Public Library will host a free seminar on applied happiness on Saturday, May 10th at 2 p.m. Attendees will learn how to sustain lasting happiness, and develop tangible skills that will enable them to live in the moment and better cope with challenges.
