Earth Day Film Series

The Southeast Museum of Photography will host an Earth Day Film Series on Tuesday, April 22nd. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Presenting provocative films that illustrate some of today’s most critical environmental issues:

Mother: Caring for 7 Billion Directed by Christophe Fauchere (USA, 2011) 60 min. Screening time: 12:30pm

Trashed Directed by Candida Brady (USA, 2012) 98 min. Screening time: 2:00pm

Call of Life: Facing the Mass Extinction Directed by Monte Thompson (USA, 2010) 60 min. Screening time: 4:00pm

Shored Up *Film screening with special guest. Directed by Ben Kalina (USA, 2013) 84 min. Screening time: 7:00pm

Bugz

Central Florida Community Arts will bring “Bugz” to Central Christian Church on April 22nd at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are free.

There’s going to be a picnic and everyone is pitchin’ in…the Lady Bugs are in charge of proper etiquette, the Army Ants handle security, the Fireflies tackle lighting, and entertainment will be provided by the Bumble Bees. Featuring beginner actors in grade K-2, Bugz is an adorable show about singing and dancing butterflies, bumblebees…and stink bugs!

Good Friday at Albin Polasek

The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens will remain open free today, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in observance of Good Friday.  Visitors are encouraged to come and view the many works created by Albin Polasek including “The Victorious Christ” and “The Stations of the Cross.” Visitors will also have the opportunity to find 20 hidden traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs, or pysanky, in the historic home.
