Alias Anna Book Event

Greg and Candy Dawson sent a note to the Scribblers:

Hello, Friends!  We would be honored to have you attend a special event at Winter Park Library on Saturday, October 15 at 2:00.  Greg is the co-author of Alias Anna:  A True Story of Outwitting the Nazis. Prize winning children’s author Susan Hood adapted Greg’s book, Hiding in the Spotlight, into a creative biography in verse for ages 10 through adult. Aimée, who brought her grandmother Zhanna’s story into the light because of a social studies assignment at Glenridge Middle School in 1994, is the audiobook narrator (sample on the Amazon site linked above).  Candy’s documentary filmed in Ukraine in and around Kharkiv, Zhanna’s hometown, will be shown.  You will see Ukraine in her pristine beauty before today’s war-torn images so sadly portrayed in the news.

Bonus:  Aimée’s 2 and a half year old daughter Félicité will make a cameo appearance—Zhanna’s legacy lives on!

Hope to see you on October 15th!  Bring your tween and teen friends.  This event is Family Friendly!!

The event is free but has limited seating. Please register here:
