John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center will host the play “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs” through April 27^th. The performance in partnership with UCF presents the production based on the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. Tickets will be $9-12. Dandelion Communitea Café will host a “Diverse Word” poetry event on April 1^st at 8 p.m. The event will feature spoken word poetry hosted by Shawn Welcome. The event is free and open to the public.

Diverse Word creates an environment conducive of eclectic spoken word poetry in order to expose all types of styles in writing and performing to the city. It is nothing but inspiration for not only poets but for those who just enjoy the art.

Sandi Hutcheson, author of Looks Great Naked, will speak at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April^2nd at the Florida Writer’s Association meeting held at the University Club of Winter Park, 841 N. Park Ave. Sandi will discuss her journey from avid reader to published author. She will speak about her secrets for turning personal stories into compelling fiction. The event is free and open to the public.
