The Vermont College of Fine Arts will be hosting its first ever novel retreat this May.In addition to providing studio space and plenty of writing time, the retreat will offer one-on-one time with faculty, panel discussions, readings and more. Florida State Senator Hukill introduced SB 290 to create an official Florida poet laureate. This is an honorary position that costs the state no money, but will support poetry education in the state. The Florida State Poets Association supports the bill, which has passed out of its first committee and will now be considered by other committees and hopefully brought to the floor for a vote. We are asking all Floridians to write their state senator and legislator to let them know they support the bill.
The FSPA appreciates everyone’s support to help get the bill passed.
Also, the Orlando Area Poets, the local chapter of the FSPA, meets the third Thursday of every month in the Maitland Library, at 6:30 PM. The next meeting is Thursday, 12/19/13.
