The Winter Park Public Library will host a free seminar on applied happiness on Saturday, May 10th at 2 p.m. Attendees will learn how to sustain lasting happiness, and develop tangible skills that will enable them to live in the moment and better cope with challenges. Literature Out Loud
Art and History Museums in Maitland will host “Literature Out Loud” on May 9th at 7 p.m. The event is a book launch for Jesse Bradley’s new graphic poetry book, “The Bones of Us.”
Join Maitland poets & writers in the Mayan Garden at 7:30, 8:15, 9:00, 9:30, interspersed with visits to the cash bar and to hear the live band. Tickets will cost $5.

Mother’s Day at Albin Polasek
The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens will host a special event for mom on Mother’s Day, May 11th. After brunch, bring Mom over to the beautiful Polasek Museum for some much needed “rest and relaxation” with free admission for Mom! Kelly Luce
Kelly Luce, author of “Three Scenarios In Which Hana Sasaki Grows A Tail”, will host a reading on May 7th at 7 p.m.in the Melanson Room at the Winter Park Public Library.
Hana Sasakiwill introduce you to many things—among them, an oracular toaster, a woman who grows a tail, and an extraordinary sex-change operation. Set in Japan, these stories tip into the fantastical, plumb the power of memory, and measure the human capacity to love.
