The City of Casselberry will host Earth Fest 2014 at Lake Concord Park on Saturday, April 26th at 12 p.m. The event will feature educational speakers, a recycling art exhibit and a happy hour. Bookmark It Inc. will host their second Locally Grown Book Fair on Sunday, May18th from noon to 4 p.m. at the East End Market in Orlando. 40 local authors and publishers will sign books and talk about their works with guests in the courtyard and halls of the market. Bookmark It’s mission is to provide opportunities to connect Central Florida readers and writers and to encourage building a strong literary community.
Call-for Authors: For local authors/publishers interested in reserving a table, low rental rates ($20-30) and no commission fees insure affordable event involvement. Rentals include (1) 6’ table and (2) chairs, table identification, inclusion in marketing efforts and day-of-event flyer. Last year’s December event attendance was over 300.

For this week-long celebration through April 26th, a select group of fine plein air artists will capture the landscapes and landmarks of Winter Park and Orlando with oils, watercolors and pastels painted outdoors with the subject directly in view, rather than in a studio. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the works generated during this week benefit the Albin Polasek Museum.
The Polasek’s wet-room gallery and gardens will be open free for visitors Sunday through Friday the week of the Paint Out. There will be special events throughout the week, and free painting demonstrations Monday through Friday.

Central Florida Folk will host an indoor acoustic music house concert, at Villa Conroy, featuring Bob Patterson and Mike Campbell on April 27th at 2:30 p.m. A donation of $12 is requested, and attendees may bring one guest to introduce them to Central Florida Folk free of charge.
