Thoroughly Modern Millie

The Montverde Academy will host “Thoroughly Modern Millie” from April 9th through April 12th. The show will begin Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10.

In the fast-paced 1920s, a girl from Kansas moves to New York to marry into a rich life. She samples the “trendy” flapper life, makes new friends, discovers young love and nearly gets caught in a white slavery in this heartfelt performance.

Going Baroque!

The Orlando Museum of Art will host its monthly 1st Thursday event, “Going Baroque!” on April 3rd at 6 p.m.

The event will feature artists creating traditional and modern day interpretations using notable elements applied by the renowned artists of the Golden Age of painting in Europe (1600 – 1800). Themed genres will include portraits, scenes from everyday life, landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and still life.

Bop to Pop

The Sanford Jazz Ensemble will bring “Bop to Pop” to the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center on March 23rd at 3 p.m. General Admission tickets will be $10.00.

The Sanford Jazz Ensemble is a community orchestra made up of a diverse group of excellent musicians, dedicated to the Preservation of the Big Band Jazz Tradition.

The band was originally formed in 1976 by saxophonist, composer and arranger, Mike Arena and was known as the Altamonte Jazz Ensemble.
